Pink Bling Birthday

Hi folks, it's Holly posting today.  This card has some gorgeous pink bling swirls on it - my first attempt at adding bling-y swirls.  I hope you enjoy it!

I used a lot of products from the Classy Cards 'n Such store on this card:

Build a Flower Set #2 die set (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Rose, Medium die strip (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Leaf Flourish Strip die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Labels 22 die set (Spellbinders)

My card base is an A2 dark gray cardstock, and I added a layer of patterned paper from The Lake House paper pad.  I then die cut the Turkish Lace Doily from dark gray cardstock and the matching Angel Wing from pale pink cardstock.  I glued these down onto the patterned paper towards the left side and trimmed the excess.

The birthday sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and cut with a circle die and adhered to a Labels 22 die shape cut from a dark berry cardstock.  I glued this sentiment down in the center of the doily.

I cut out one of the pink swirls and pressed it down on my card, adhering the tail end to the bottom of my sentiment.  The leaf flourishes were cut from olive cardstock and glued down below the sentiment and the pink swirl.

To make my flowers, I die cut the white ones from the Medium Rose strip and the pink one from the Build a Flower Set #2.  I used some rhinestone brads to layer the white flowers together, spritzed them with some water, and then used my fingers to crush the leaves together.  I repeated this with the pink flower petals and a larger rhinestone brad, except I sprayed these flower petals with a shimmery pearl spray.  I let my flowers dry for an hour and then I glued them down onto my card.  I love the contrast of the shabby, crushed flowers with the shiny pink rhinestone swirl.
Love it!!

Vintage Thank You

Hi friends, it's Holly posting today.  I made a cute little thank you card to give to my mom and I thought I'd share it with you.

Are you wondering about that lacy flower? Let me tell you what products I used from the Classy Cards 'n Such store, and then I'll explain how I created that lacy flower.  I used the following:

Lady Kate edger die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Whimsy Perfect Petals resin flowers

My card is a 4.25" square card and I cut the patterned paper to 4" x 1.5" and adhered them to a dark blue cardstock layer, then adhered that to my vanilla card base.  I added the Lady Kate Edger die cut (with vanilla cardstock) at the bottom of the card.  I stamped the sentiment with dark blue ink, cut the fishtail notch with my scissors, and adhered it to the patterned paper.

For my flower, I cut a small piece (round or square, shape doesn't really matter) from the double sided adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing off from one side, and then stuck the Ecru Delight Lace onto the sticky side.  Working slowly, I folded the lace and pressed it down onto the sticky piece, going around in a circle.  When the lace started to overlap, I cut the end and tucked it down.

I cut another small piece of the double sided adhesive sheet and peeled the backing off one side, and then I pressed the sticky side down on top of the lace circle.  Next, I removed the backing off the other side of the sticky tape and pressed the gorgeous dark blue Whimsy Perfect Petal flower into the center of the lace circle.

With my lacy flower completed, I peeled the backing off the sticky tape that was on the bottom of the lace and stuck this down on my card next to the sentiment.  This turned out even cuter than I "saw" it in my head!!

So pretty!   Thanks, Holly!

Lovely JustRite Sympathy

Good morning, Steph here again using an awesome With Sympathy stamp set from JustRite Stampers.  This stamp set has 12 different phrases, several small images, a frame and this lovely rose.  So, even though the stamp set is perfect for creating sympathy cards and projects, there are so many other options available to you.  I chose to use the rose as a focal image and created a generic card that could easily be used for Mother's Day or even a birthday.

Using Tim Holtz Distress Markers, I colored the rose with  Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade and the leaves and stem with Crushed OliveForest Moss and Old Paper.

I used the  Printery collection pad by Prima, selecting four different papers and using elements from each one, cutting and tearing for dimension.  The sentiment was also cut from one of the papers in this collection and added to the card front with Joy Foam Adhesives.

Once colored, I added a little glitter to the interior of the rose using Gelly Roll Stardust Pen.  This pen adds just the right amount of shimmer and shine and dries very quickly.

Beautiful card, Steph!

Daffodil for You

Good morning!   My card today is one of those that can be used for lots of occasions.   I used it for a sympathy card but it could just as easily be a birthday, thinking of you, just because and more.

I started with a card base of the new Hera cardstock.  Even though it doesn't show well in the photo, this is a wonderful beige that works with so many colors and cards!

Gold Leaf Curious Metallic was used for the mat.  The gold is a rich, muted color.  I embossed it with the Heather Border for a very delicate and elegant border.  I rounded the corners of the mat for a little added interest.

I chose a daffodil outline sticker for the focal point.  I love to use the stickers!  They are quick, easy and give an embossed look with no mess.  I placed the daffodil on heavyweight vellum and framed it with a frame from the Oval Frames sticker sheet. The heavyweight vellum did not curl when I colored it and has quickly become a favorite!

I cut around the frame and then colored the daffodil with a variety of markers - 3D Souffle, Metallic and Copics.  It was easy to put a touch of adhesive behind the daffodil and adhere it to the center of the gold mat.

I hope you enjoyed my card today!   Be sure to check out this week's specials and new products here!

Glittery Peony

Hi, Holly here.  Today I'm sharing this glittery peony card with you, and I'll be honest.  I totally squealed when I finished this card.  I love this glittery flower!!!

I started by cutting the Lovely Peony Outline from black cardstock and carefully pulling it out of the die.  I cut a piece of the 6x6 Double-sided Adhesive Sheet just big enough to fit the Lovely Peony Background and adhered one side of it to some white cardstock.  I left the adhesive paper backing on the other side and placed the Lovely Peony Background die onto it and cut it out.

Now with my sticky adhesive background flower and my black outline flower, I worked very slowly and carefully.  I peeled the backing off the top of my adhesive flower and laid down the black outline flower onto the adhesive, matching up the edges very carefully.  Once my black outline was in place, I pressed it down to seal the two flower die cuts together.

Next, I pulled out my Chantilly glitter and poured it over my adhesive flower.  This Chantilly glitter is gorgeous!  It's got a gold/yellow undertone with pinks and roses and and a hint of brown in it.  You can see the gorgeous colors in the close-up picture.  The areas that were not covered up with the black outline were the sticky part of the background flower and the glitter sticks beautifully to this adhesive sheet.

I set aside my glittery flower and put together my card by cutting some papers from the Printery Collection (Prima) and glued them to some vanilla cardstock.  I wrapped some Black Cluny lace around the the middle of the two papers and glued them down on the back of the vanilla cardstock.  I then adhered the papers to a black card base.  The glittery flower was affixed to the card with some Joy Foam Pads (small).

I absolutely love the way the glittery flower turned out!  Now I want to try this with all the different colors of glitter that I have!  I could also use different colors of cardstock for the outline instead of the black that I used here.  Wouldn't this be gorgeous with some deep red glitter and a pale pink outline?  What about a sunny yellow glittery flower with a chocolate brown outline?  I could also see a beautiful blue glitter with a white outline and a purple glitter with a pale blue outline.  See, the possibilities are endless!!!  :-)
So pretty, Holly!  This is one of those cards that can not only be made in many different ways as Holly mentioned, but is also suitable for many occasions!

He is Risen!!!

Hello everyone. It's Jenn posting today. I have a lovely vintage Easter card to share with you today.

I started with a pale pink card base that measures 4.25"
x 5.5". I just love the vintage florals and prints that are a part of the Romantique Collection by Prima and I knew that would be the basis for my card. I added one piece to the base and another to the small layer that I placed in the middle of the card. I distressed the edges of the paper on the smaller layer and inked all the edges of the layers and card with Spun Sugar Distress Ink.

Next, using the pale pink cardstock and the Cross Set by Cheery Lynn Designs, I die-cut a cross to place on the right side. Using Spellbinders Lacey Ovals and vanilla cardstock I die-cut an oval for my sentiment.

I wanted the sentiment to really pop so, I added Mini Roses in Soft Olive Transition into the lacy openings.

So pretty, Jenn!!   Easter is only about six weeks away and it's definitely not too soon to start your Easter cards!!

The new 3D M-Bossabilities are available for pre-order and are on sale now!!!   Several new cardstock colors and heavyweight vellum are new this week in the Classy Cards shop.  Details here.

A Creative Thank You Card

Good morning, Steph here again and today I have a Thank You card to share.

I always seem to need Thank You cards, and this was definitely fun to create using an assortment of  papers from Ladies & Gents, Trendsetters by Webster's Pages.   Each double sided paper is so very pretty.

I chose the subtle green print as the card's base which I inked and matted with brown cardstock before adhering to the card.  I then cut around the floral image of another paper because I wanted it to be the focal point of the card.  After cutting it out, I also matted it with brown cardstock, then adhered it to the lower left side of the card.  Using a left over piece of striped paper from Webster's Pages, I matted it with brown cardstock and placed it towards the top of the card because this area seemed a little plain to me.

The sentiment is from JustRite Stampers Spring Words which I stamped on a left over scrap of paper from Ladies & Gents, Trendsetters, then matted it with brown cardstock before it adhering to the card.
Very creative!  Thanks, Steph!!

Mexican Tile Frame

Hi Classy Friends!  It's Holly posting today and I've got a bright and funky card to share with you today.  I used some new products from the Classy Cards 'n Such store along with some well loved stamps, dies, and bling.

Mexican Tile Pattern frame die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Rose Leaf Strip die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Olive Branches die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Cutie Fringe II (Cheery Lynn Designs)

I cut the Mexican Tile frame first and then cut some white cardstock to fit the frame.  I stamped the butterfly and the sentiment inside the frame and colored the butterfly with Copic markers.  Next, I die cut some Rose Leaves and some Olive Branches and adhered them to opposite corners of my frame.  I then die cut the fringe flowers from yellow and orange cardstock and followed the instructions for rolling them up.

To make the yellow flowers smaller than the orange one, I used scissors to give the fringe a trim around the edges.  Once I got them to the size I wanted, I glued all the fringe flowers down onto the frame.  The silver rhinestones fit perfectly inside the centers of the fringe flowers, so I used the handle of a small paintbrush to press the rhinestones down.

These new fringe flowers are the easiest ones I've ever tried to roll up.  I just use a little quilling tool and just roll and go.  It's easy to pull the petals down with your fingers and fluff them to make a perfect fringed flower.

Very colorful!  Thanks, Holly!

Happy Wedding Day

Hello everyone. It's Jenn and today I have a wedding card to share with you.
I started with a pre-made card base that measures 5.5 x 6.5. I created a rectangle and a square patterned paper layer using The Lake House collection

On top of the patterned paper layers, I added a strip of Textured Two-tone Ribbon in Pink/White by May Arts.

Using pink cardstock and the French Pastry Doily Die, I cut out a pink doily and stamped my sentiment in the middle.

For the perfect finishing touch I cut out an off white
Labels Eighteen and mounted a Pink Floral Silhouette on it.

The floral silhouettes are so pretty!!!  Thanks, Jenn!

Just for You

Hi Classy friends!  Holly here, and today I'm sharing this sweet pink card with you.  I created it as a generic card for any occasion, so this can be used as a birthday card, a Valentine card, a Mother's Day card, a thank you card, anything you can think of!

The products from Classy Cards 'n Such that I've used on this card are:

Sophie's Heart Mini Doily die  - Cheery Lynn Designs (LOVE these smaller doilies!!)
Fanciful Flourish die - Cheery Lynn Designs
Mini Fanciful Flourish die - Cheery Lynn Designs
Tropical Flourish die - Cheery Lynn Designs
Judy's Blooms dies - Cheery Lynn Designs
Anytime Sentiments stamp set - Impression Obsession

My dark brown card base is a regular A2 size (11" x 4.25" folded in half).  I cut one of the papers from the Love Letters pad and adhered that to the card base.  I then cut two smaller layers from the same Love Letters pad and matted them with the dark brown cardstock.  Next I cut out the three flourishes from vanilla and olive cardstocks and arranged them on the card.

The sentiment was stamped with dark brown ink onto vanilla cardstock and I cut a notch on the left side.  I matted this with dark brown cardstock and adhered this near the bottom of my card.  I die cut the Sophie's Heart Mini Doily from dark brown cardstock and adhered that over the flourishes.  I then die cut the Judy's Blooms flowers, painted them with a shimmery paint, and adhered them together with a brad in the center.  I carefully glued my flower in the center of the mini doily and fluffed up the petals.

I love this card!  These pretty pinks with the gorgeous doily and those flourishes - I don't think I could give this away just yet.  I think I'll have to admire this in my studio for a few months first.  :-)

Pretty card, Holly!!

Remember this card of Holly's from a few days ago??

So Special Someone card with Cluny Lace

Hey folks, it's Holly posting today.  I hope you are having a great week.  I've got a romantic, lace-filled card to share with you today.

I started with a vanilla card front and I adhered a piece of the gorgeous dark rose patterned paper from the Magnolia Grove paper pad to that.  Next, I took three strips of gray cardstock and embossed them with the Bricks and Bark M-Bossabilites folder.  To bring out the raised edges, I rubbed a vanilla ink pad across the gray strips.  I glued these to the patterned paper, keeping to the left side of the card because I knew I wanted to add my sentiment to that side.  Some Ivory Cotton Cluny lace was wrapped around the card front and adhered to the back.  I then glued this card front to a gray card base.

For my sentiment, I cut a Lacey Circle from some vanilla cardstock.  I stamped the elegant circle border from the Hugs and Kisses Sentiments stamp set (JustRite) in the center of the Lacey Circle.  I stamped the sentiment from the Birthday Sentiments set on some vanilla cardstock and cut it out with a circle die and then adhered that to the center of my stamped border.  The sentiment was affixed to the card with some Joy Foam Pads (small).

I absolutely love the lace in the Classy Cards 'n Such store.  I bought some of this Ivory Cotton Cluny lace last year, and I loved it so much, I bought the Sampler package so I could get my hands on all the different kinds.  If you love lace like I do, I recommend getting the assortment package to start with.  I know I'll be going back for more of this gorgeous lace - I can't seem to stop using it!  :-)
The Cluny lace Holly used is so gorgeous!  It also comes in black.

Heart Card Tutorial

Good morning, it's Steph again with a tutorial on creating a card that would be wonderful for a wedding card or even a Valentine's Day card.

  • Create a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square card from red cardstock, scoring it perfectly with the Scor-Buddy.
  • Using papers from Trimcraft's Love Letters paper pad, cut papers 5" x 5" and create a layered effect by using the striped paper as the base layer.
  • Add a strip of red cardstock the top and bottom edges of the heart layer.
  • Using Doodle Twine in pink and lime, wrap it around the heart paper three times.
  • Tie a bow on the right side and spread the twine apart.
  • Add to the card base.

Thanks, Steph!

New Memory Box dies including the Bingham Heart, cute bees skep (or hive as it's known where I live), Flower Mound, and the Lavish Branch have been added to the shop.   Trendy Tapes (aka Washi tapes)..some with a Valentine's theme some with Valentine themes have also been added.  I've waited for weeks for these and apologize for them being so late.  You can see them all in the NEW!!! section of the Classy Cards shop. Valentine Be Mine

Hello everyone. It's Jenn posting today. I have a clean, simple, yet elegant Valentine card to share with you.

I started with a 6 x 5.5 base of Champagne Reich Shine. To that I added a layer of the beautiful leaf foil paper from the Magnolia Grove paper pad.

Using some gold cardstock and the Cherish Border by Memory Box, I die-cut a border to place a little further down from the center. I popped the border up by using the Joy Foam Pads.

Next, I used the Spellbinders Fancy Tags and some vanilla paper to die-cut a tag to stamp my sentiment on. And that's it! I told you it was simple.

So beautiful, Jenn!!!

Unfortunately, the Cherish Heart border recently sold out and I won't be able to get any more before Valentine's Day.  However, Tangled Hearts would work well on this card too!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...
